The project is located in Civate, Italy, near Lecco lake. In Civate the preservation and integration of an old presbytery  house aims not only to regenerate the village but also wants to be a new central place for visitors and wanderers passing by. A hostel, social appartements and culture house are new beating heart that makes this rejuvenation possible. A thorough focus on the mountainous landscape makes sure that the intervention does not alienate from the location. The orientation of the house, and its interesting shape leads to a unique organization, where the goal was to embody the more luxury apartments, and the cheaper hostel rooms. The organization wasn’t made through zoning, but all the functions are spread through a holistic approach, according to the offered view of the room, as well as its historical value. The new volume arises within the offered view, and the addition acts as the extension of the inner “piazza”, and improves its importance as the meeting point for the people of Civate, and offers a new small city center.
